Living Control Multi-Room Systems
Living Control Products
How does a Living Control system work?
Your Living Control installer will plug your music sources into what’s called a CPU (Central Processing Unit). This clever box of tricks connects with the keypads in each room. It sends your commands from the keypads to the source you want to listen to and then directs the music to the room you’re in. If you have a multi-disc changer, the installer loads the system with the disc titles via PC software, so you can recall a disc by name from a keypad anywhere in the home. The system stores the names alphabetically, so artist selection is made by pressing the “Search” button on the keypad followed by the first letter of the name. If you change or add a CD, simply update the name using your PC. It’s so simple.
The process is made even simpler by installing Living Control’s Afinity MusicBox3 home server. This hard-drive device uploads and stores all your CDs and can download music from the Internet, retaining titles automatically.
If you install Living Control’s Afinity RoomBox6VX CPU, you’ll be able to switch video to different rooms using the same Living Control keypads/touch screens for the complete multi-room entertainment experience.
So easy to use
Living Control’s systems give you the sophisticated but easy-to-use luxury of multi-room media distribution from a wall mounted ‘control panel’ in a range of décor matching finishes. As compact as a light switch, these backlit displays show you what is playing, and guide you through the intuitive system functions. They also receive commands from a remote control so that you can select track, channel and volume from the comfort of an armchair.
DISPLAYPAD (Compatible with RoomBox6, RoomBox4, MRS/EVENT/3HREE)
The key component for controlling any of Living Control's multi-room products is the DisplayPad.
Each zone (room) within the system has a DisplayPad, which is extremely simple to use thanks to its intuitive display and three buttons which guide you through operation.
From each DisplayPad you can choose what you want to listen to. Most of the multi-disc CD players available today are compatible with Living Control's systems, and, no matter in what order your CDs are loaded in the player, you can choose exactly what you want to listen to from an alphabetically sorted list shown on the DisplayPad. This also applies to radio and TV station names and DVDs as well.
The compact design of the DisplayPad means that it can easily blend in with your decor. No special fixings or boxes are required because all of the DisplayPads currently available fit in a standard 25mm UK back box. They are available in a variety of finishes to match your existing switch plates. We even manufacture special environment plates for use outdoors or in humid conditions such as swimming pools.
DISPLAYPAD-S (Compatible with RoomBox6, RoomBox4, MRS/EVENT)
Adding to the wide range of Living Control DisplayPad finishes, the new super-chic DisplayPad-S provides another beautifully styled option for design gurus. DisplayPad-S will deliver the same peerless flexibility that has made the DisplayPad Living Control’s most popular control interface, but is easier to fit and to program.
DISPLAYPAD-S/RAKO PLATE for lighting control
Simple and direct: the new combined DisplayPad-S and Rako control panels. Choose from all the
sources, change track or station and control volume with the DisplayPad-S. Choose a lighting effect to enhance any occasion with the integrated Rako control panel. Up to four lighting scenes plus up/down dimming at the push of a button.
The new Rako controller plugs in the back of a Living Control RoomBox6 CPU. This means that all the ‘Events’ will control Rako dimmers. In this configuration the powerful VideoPad-AV will also control lights in a home cinema room.
